Netflix has released the trailer for A Dog’s Perfect Christmas, a new holiday movie starring Dennis Quaid (On a Wing and a Prayer) and Mary Steenburgen (A Bookish Christmas). Set to premiere on November 4, 2026, the film tells a story about family bonds and the role animals can play during difficult times.
The trailer introduces Winstead, a Basset Hound who narrates the story and witnesses the challenges facing the Goss family. Two years after the family matriarch’s death, grandfather Sander, played by Quaid, and his granddaughter Ello, portrayed by Brooke Lena Johnson, struggle with conflicts that make life together increasingly difficult.
Things begin to change with the arrival of Ruby, a Corgi puppy who helps bring the family closer together. As the relatives try to overcome their differences, the two dogs become instrumental in restoring affection and a sense of togetherness during the holiday season.
